Aiden De Hon

Aiden De Hon is a percussionist based in the Dallas–Fort Worth area and is currently pursuing a degree in Music Performance at the East Texas A&M University School of Music.

​

As a composer, Aiden’s works have been performed by percussionists at both the high school and university levels. His compositions explore themes beyond the music itself, often reflecting ideas of nostalgia, loss, transformation, and personal growth. Aiden also has arranged marching percussion works for Denison High School and Troy High School.

As a performer, Aiden has earned recognition in numerous percussion competitions across Texas. His solo accomplishments include 1st Place at the 2023 Plano Drumline Solo Keyboard Contest, 1st Place at the 2023 TCU Percussion Festival Keyboard Competition, 2nd Place at the Lone Star Drumline Solo Keyboard Contest, 3rd Place at the 2024 North Texas Percussion Festival Solo Keyboard Contest, and 2nd Place at the 2025 TCU Percussion Festival University Keyboard Competition.

Most recently, Aiden was awarded 2nd Place in the 2026 TIERRAS Percussion Collegiate Keyboard Division, performing his original marimba solo, Susumu.

Aiden was also featured on ensembles that were selected as winning recordings for the 2026 Percussive Arts Society International Percussion Ensemble Competition (IPEC)

Aiden is also an active performer in Drum Corps International, having marched with the Crossmen (San Antonio, TX) in 2024 and the Troopers (Casper, WY) in 2025 and 2026.

​

As an educator, Aiden has served as a Front Ensemble Technician at Denison High School since 2024 and teaching private lessons as well since 2025.

​

At the East Texas A&M University School of Music, Aiden has  studied under world class faculty including Dr. Brian Zator, Dr. Tanner Leonardo, Lauren Teel, Jeff Ausdemore, Michael Huestis, Will Champion, and Waichi Champion.
